Fabulosa Books in the Castro

Pride Month may be over, but queer bookstore Fabulosa Books makes sure to keep the celebrations running year-round.

The bookshop plans to host queer poets Octavio R. Gonzales, Daniel W.K. Lee and Yume Kim as they read from their poetry collections on Sunday, July 30.

González is an associate professor of English and creative writing at Wellesley College, and published his debut full-length poetry collection, “Limerence,” in April. The book unravels the writer’s experiences with desire, pain and tension as a gay man.

Lee, a third-generation Cantonese American refugee, debuted “Anatomy of Want” in 2019. The poetry collection explores the human condition and fulfilled and unfulfilled desires.

Kim is a San Francisco State University alumna and holds master’s degrees in English and creative writing. Her semi-autobiographical debut poetry chapbook, “Reserve the Right,” was released in 2020 and follows a second-generation Korean immigrant woman as she battles racial and gender inequalities.
