Blackpink in your area. For real, though. The girl group, comprised of Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa and Rosé, are set to bring their “Born Pink” tour to Oracle Park on Tuesday, Aug. 22, marking the group’s first Bay Area performance.
The K-pop sensation has amassed a loyal fan base since its inception in 2016. Fervent fans, nicknamed “Blinks,” have sold out arenas, flooded streets and spent copious amounts of money on coveted light sticks, the accessory designed to blink along with the music.
Blackpink has made waves in recent years, recently becoming the first K-pop group to headline Coachella and the most streamed female band in the world. In addition to working with the group, each Blackpink member has pursued her own solo musical endeavors.
After its first U.S. performance in 2019, the group began collaborating with artists such as Selena Gomez and Cardi B, melding its unique pop sound with a range of mainstream American genres.
