Support the victims of the Maui wildfires with an evening of music and culture at Freight and Salvage’s Kōkua Maui benefit concert. Hawaiian musicians from around the Bay Area are set to perform at the Berkeley venue on Sunday, Sept. 3.

Among the musicians on the bill are dancer, choreographer and musician Mahealani Uchiyama; Steven Espaniola, who practices a style of traditional Hawaiian falsetto music calledleo kie kie; and Faith Ako, a touring artist and Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award nominee. The event will be hosted by Berkeley native Patrick Landeza, author of the children’s book “Danny’sHawaiianJourney.” Landeza is also a Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award winner.

“Berkeley and the Freight have always been our home for Hawaiian music, it’s only natural that we organize an event here,” Landeza said in a statement.

All ticket proceeds will directly support those impacted by the Maui wildfires. Tickets are $30 with the option to increase the donation amount.
