“When I was working in my classroom in the evenings, sometimes I would be overwhelmed with a feeling of melancholy and sadness,” said Kristen, a Los Gatos teacher. It wasn’t from her; she got the feeling that something — maybe a “smoky shadow” — was watching her.

Now the show, which specializes in scary stories from everyday people, all underscored with eerie, pulse-quickening soundscapes, appears in person on a double whammy of eldritch dates: It’s October, and it’s Friday the 13th.
